our council to be represented at the celebration of the Queen’s awards and we have had numerous attempts to airbrush anything British.

“Over the last few days we have had graffiti sprayed on the outskirts of our city which reads ‘Prods out’. This is all being driven and motivated by people against peace.

“It is very depressing. “This shows you how bad things have got in the peace process. It’s no wonder that unionist people come to me asking why I bother, that there is no peace process.”

Despite the cancellation of the event, the royals have been warmly welcomed in Donegal in the past. Prince Charles and Camilla visited the county in May 2016, taking part in a tour of Donegal Castle, as well as meeting many local people.

Photos: Thomas Markle with Meghan MEGHAN Markle’s father may have some explaining to do ahead of the royal wedding, as it has been reported he collaborated with paparazzi to stage multiple photo shoots.

Over the last few months, numerous publications have published photos of Thomas Markle attempting to learn more about his daughter’s life in Britain.

In some of the scenes, he can be seen flipping through a book of British landmarks, while others show him at an internet cafe reading about his daughter’s relationship with Prince Harry.

From the photos, it appeared Meghan’s father was excited for his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry on May 19, and was eagerly learning more about Britain ahead of his own arrival for the big day.

However, the Daily Mail has now reported the photos were staged — after receiving security footage that allegedly shows Mr Markle and a photographer, Jeff Rayner, at an internet cafe.

In the video, a man believed to be Mr Markle can be seen entering the cafe in Mexico alongside another man with a camera.

The video also shows the man identified as Rayner adjusting the screen to capture a better angle of Mr Markle, and Mr Markle paying for the time at the end of the photoshoot.

Other photos of Thomas Markle have allegedly been staged as well, according to the Mail, including pictures of him being fitted for a suit and of him working out.

In addition to the security footage, the Mail also noted that Meghan’s father can be seen wearing the same outfit in each photo, suggesting that multiple shoots were taken on the same day.

The Daily Mail reported that the photos of Mr Markle were sold for as much as £100,000 — however, it is unclear what percentage, if any, Meghan’s father made from the images.

The news comes after a statement was released by Prince Harry’s representatives that said Thomas Markle was being “followed and harassed” by media and paparazzi ahead of the royal wedding in Windsor this Saturday.
