Special One still tops, says Reds boss

-

maintains that his opponent in the opposite dugout tomorrow is the better manager.

“Manchester United never ever show a lack of ambition. Mourinho is the most successful manager in the world and that’s how it is,” he said.

United’s poor start to the season has them eight points below the top four and well shy of challenging for the title, but Klopp is wary of their pedigree despite the mounting criticism of Mourinho.

“I’ve never been interested in the points of Manchester United,” said the Liverpool manager.

“I’m aware of the criticism but we switch off because there’s a lot of quality, speed and technique and they have pretty much everything.

“David De Gea in goal. (Marcus) Rashford and (Romelu) Lukaku, (Jesse) Lingard too are unbelievable. We don’t judge the points they have, just the quality.”

Klopp added that “it’s time” to make up for previous results and beat United at Anfield for the first time since Brendan Rodgers’ side won 1-0 in September 2013.

“We have to be angry on Sunday and we will be. We will fight for those points on Sunday. It’s time! I know it will be a very intense game and we will be ready for that.

“If Ferguson says it’s the English clasico, then that’s cool because I was already involved in the German clasico.”
