LADIES FOOTBALL

Enniskerry Ladies Football team had win under lights in the Final of the Paddy Walsh Cup against a very good and strong Ranelagh Gaels from Dublin.The local girls lead at half-time but the opposition made changes and blitzed Enniskerry who fought back and won out in the end by 3points. BEECH WALK

Great work has gone into the Beech Walk in Enniskerry by Volunteers,with tons of crushed stones etc over the past few weeks at no cost well done to people involved. CAINT MOR

The long nights are on the way so this means that the Enniskerry Walkers are back on Tuesdays. Next week they will meet at Windsors Spar opposite The Town Clock at 7.00 pm and take in the Fassaroe and Saint Valories Cross walk returning via Berryfield. SOCCER

Kilcoole Intermedia­te team were hard pushed by Enniskerry Juniors on last Saturday. The Black and Amber Lads lead well early on but in a terrible 2 minutes Enniskerry conceded a soft goal and Mossie O'Gorman broke his ankle minutes we lost a player to a black card and used up our subs.

Barndarrig are the visitors to Pairc na Sillogue on Saturday at 5.00pm. Training for all teams Juvenile and Adults continues as does the Hurling Coaching. Tickets are still available for the County Draw. BOXING NEWS

Enniskerry Boxers won 2 Leinster Titles well done to Michael Moorehouse and Terry O'Toole, This weekend it is All-Ireland Finals and we wish the Lads well.

Enrolling for 8-12 year olds continues in the Community Hall on Thursday and Friday Nights between 6-7 pm. There will be a big Girls group boxing in Dundalk on 12th/13th April. DARTS

AOH Hall: Over an informal cup of tea in the Parish House recently, Mr. John H. Shanaghan Jnr. Received the key of the AOH Hall which had been left with the parish since the demise of AOH activities in the middle of the last century. Mr. Shanaghan was authorized by the National Board of Erin of the Ancient Order of Hibernians to resume all responsibi­lity and maintenanc­e of their AOH Hall in the village. Mr, Shanaghan expressed the hope of reviving some of the Order's activities in the futures.

Members of the Enniskerry History Society are invited to attend tonight's (Wednesday) 8pm meeting of the Rathmichae­l Historical Society in Rathmichae­l School, Stonebridg­e Road, Shankill, at which Patricia Butler will present her lecture ‘Wicklow Through the Artist's Eye '.

Later in April Rob Goodbody will be the guest speaker for 8.30pm Thursday April 10th meeting of the Enniskeery History Society in the Powerscour­t Arms Hotel at which he will present his lecture on ' Ballyman Northern Parts of the Pow- erscourt Estate.' All welcome to attend - admission is €3.
