PRACTICAL EXAM TIME.

The school is a hive of activity these days with Oral examinations in French, Irish and German, coinciding with Practical Cookery exams. But it's not all work and no play: sixth years and repeat leaving cert students recently went to Causey Farm in Co. Meath on an ecology trip. By all accounts they had a great day, even if they did get soaked to the skin! TIME OUT

Meanwhile the second and third years went to Kippure Adventure Centre for a most memorable occasion. In the morning they had an ecology visit with workshop activities, and in the afternoon they participated in bush crafting. This entailed constructing a shelter in the woods from only those resources available in the surrounding area. Then they “hunted” for their food from an orienteering-style treasure hunt list of clues. Then they had to figure out how to cook it. They even had to light their own fire.... without matches!

Next day the second years were out again, this time climbing Bray Head and crossing almost to Greystones. But it seems they were so exhausted from the Kippure experience that they were slightly less enthusiastic! AWARE

Senior students welcomed a guest speaker from Aware, the organization which promotes mental health. This hugely important issue was discussed and hopefully will prove to be of lasting benefit as the students advance through life. HAPPY EASTER

As Easter draws closer we wish everyone a very happy Easter. And for exam students.... good luck with the revision.
