Attempted to swallow cannabis

A NEWTOWN man who attempted to swallow cannabis to hide it from gardai was fined €350.

Ethan Gannon ( 21), 135 Season Park, appeared at Bray District Court last Thursday.

Garda Garrett Collins said that the was on patrol at Newtown Road in Kilcoole on June 26 at 7 p.m.

Gannon was the passenger in a car he searched due to a smell of cannabis.

Garda Collins saw him take something out of his trousers, chew and attempt to swallow it.

‘ He apologises for his behaviour,’ said solicitor Conway O’Hara. ‘It shouldn’t have happened. He hasn’t come to garda attention since.’
