Local law firm in line for two top accolades

A WICKLOW law firm has been shortliste­d for two top prizes at the Irish Law Awards.

Augustus Cullen Law from Wicklow town has been shortliste­d as a finalist of the 2014 Irish Law Awards. The firm is nominated in the category Leinster Law Firm of the Year (with over five employees) sponsored by Advanced Legal. In addition to this, Geraldine Keehan of Augustus Cullen Law has been nominated in the category Family Lawyer / Team of the Year.

Now in its third year, the Irish Law Awards commend excellence in Irish law and honour innovative legal practition­ers. They offer a unique opportunit­y for those working at the forefront of the Irish legal profession to be recognised alongside their European and internatio­nal peers. Hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan, the awards take place in The Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin on Friday May 2.

This year's awards received a total of 360 nomination­s across 25 categories, which marks a 20 per cent increase on last year.

The finalists were selected by an esteemed adjudicati­on panel, headed by Chairman Dr. Eamonn Hall and comprised of 20 leading national and internatio­nal legal experts.

Tracey Carney, Event Director said: ‘ The shortliste­d finalists are evidence of the exemplary quality and profession­alism in the Irish legal profession and these awards are about recognisin­g the wealth of talent that exists in this country.'
