The Alpha In/Between Club: Last night (Tuesday) Ms. Avril McWilliams hosted the April meeting at which the book for review and discussion was l ' On Canaan's Side ' by Sebastian Barry. The book for the May meeting will be ' Blood on the Stones ' by Alan Grainger (of this parish).

ST. ANNE'S PARISH

May Youth Mass: This Saturday our May Youth Mass will be held at 7.30pm in St. Anne's Resource Centre. If you would like to get involved in the Youth Mass, please contact the St. Anne's Parish Office on 01-2822277. We need Readers, Musicians, Hospitalit­y and Social Team. Come along, meet new people and make new friends.

Thank You: A sincere Thank You to everyone who prepared our Church for Easter. To all those who cleaned the Church, cleaned the linen and altar cloths, and the magnificen­t Easter Garden. To those who delivered the Easter Packs, Ministers of the Word, Ministers of Holy Communion, our Organist and Parish Choir, members of the UAC and members of the Habemus Group. To the Collectors and Counters, the Sacristans and our Altar Servers. To the Children's Liturgy team and the staff in St. Anne's Resource Centre.

The Parish appreciate­s all your hard work which contribute­d to the smooth running and enjoyment of the Easter Ceremonies - FR. John, Fr. Mike & Fr. Eamon.

Not-So-Secret Choir: In celebratio­n of the vibrant community spirit in Shankill, we are once again preparing for the evening Mass on Pentecost Sunday - June 8th . All musician and singers, who wish to be involved, are asked to meet for rehearsal between 8pm and 9pm in St. Anne's Church, each Tuesday night. People from all ages are welcome and can look forward to enjoying a fun social gathering.

First Holy Communion: The children from St. Anne's School, Mr. Allen's Class, will make their First Holy Communion this Sunday at the 10.30am Mass. We wish them and their families every blessing.

Easter Dues: Easter Dues envelopes may be handed into the Parish Office or the Sacristy. Thank you for your supper, it is gratefully appreciate­d. Acknowledg­ements for Easter Dues will be issued during July.

Parish Pilgrimage to Knock: This will take place on Saturday June 7th - The Feast of Our Lady Queen of Apostles. The cost is €20 - Tea / Coffee and scone included. Contact the St. Anne's Parish Office to book as there are limited number of places. The bus will leave the church grounds on Saturday June 7th at 7.30am.

Come Away Awhile and Rest: This afternoon of prayer will take place on Sunday i8n St. Anne's Resource Centre from 2pm to 6pm finishing with 6pm Mass in St. Anne's Church. It will be given by Fr. Daniel DosSantos, Verbum Dei Community. Donation.

First Friday: This Friday is the First Friday of the Month and the Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel will be open from 10.30am to 7.30pm. Priest will be available on Friday to visit the sick and housebound in the Parish. Please contact the St. Anne's Parish Office if you know of someone who would like a priest to visit them.

Trocaire Boxes: These may be returned to the St. Anne's Parish Office or the Sacristy.

Cemetery Sunday: Mass will be held in Shanganagh Cemetery on Sunday May 25th at 3pm.

Friday Night is Music Night: This event in aid of parish funds take place on Friday May 9th at 7.30pm in St. Anne's Resource featuring ' With a Song in My Heart ' , a celebratio­n of the music of Richard Rogers, presented by Jimmy Eglington. Tickets, €10 including refreshmen­ts, , are available from St. Anne's Resource Centre. BOOK SALE

This Saturday morning the May First Saturday Book Sale, which supports the Shankill Old Folks Associatio­n and Meals on Wheels , will take place between 10am and 1 pm in the Shankill Old Folks Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill, on Saturday May 3rd .

As always there will be an excellent array of books , both fiction and non-fiction, to choose from at bargain prices, so make a point of calling in as you never know what you may find. All welcome. Donations of books, other than school/text books, appreciate­d and accept on the day. SHANKILL LIBRARY
