Valentine’s card takes scenic route to Marine Terrace

- By MARY FOGARTY

THE PEOPLE and postmen of Bray ensured that the course of true love ran smoothly last week, when the ensured that a St Valentine’s Day card made its way to the correct address.

‘Some very kind or romantic residents of Bray worked very hard to get the card to me,’ said local woman Claire Dignam.

She finally received the card from her boyfriend Eamon Edwards on Thursday, when she saw a woman drive up and pop it in her letterbox.

While Claire lives in an apartment on Marine Terrace, Strand Road, Eamon had not included ‘Marine Terrace’ on the envelope.

There were four addresses written on the envelope, Esplanade Terrace, Martello Manor, Marlboro Terrace, and Broadway before, finally, someone wrote ‘ try Marine Terrace’ on the card.

Eamon lives in Rathgormack, County Waterford, and the pair met last year in Dingle.

Claire was delighted that her card was delivered, having taken something of a scenic route.

She believes that the successful delivery was down to the efforts of both the postal service, and residents of the other locations.

While it was a little late, the card was certainly worth waiting for, particularly given the heartwarming actions of those who helped it on its journey.
