Entries open for St Patrick’s Day parade

-

PREPARATIONS are under way for this year’s St Patrick’s Festival, with arts, youth, sporting and community groups invited to take part.

The parade and funfair will be accompanied by a weekend-long series of supporting events, including live traditional music, and the family fun day out. The festival will run from March 15 to March 19.

As usual there will be prizes awarded to the best parade participants. There are several different categories of awards and the winners will be selected by the judges on the viewing stand.

‘Every year the St Patrick’s Festival Bray committee does their utmost to provide a magical and fun filled day out for all the residents of Bray,’ said Mick Glynn, chairperson of the festival. ‘We try year after year to build and improve on the festival and this year again we call upon all the local community groups for their help to create yet another successful day for all the thousands of spectators who visit Bray for the Parade.’

The route will extend from Bray Town Hall along Main Street to Quinsboro Road, before snaking its way around the Carlisle Grounds onto Seapoint Road where it will turn on Bray Seafront.
