FUTURE OF OUR PLANET

‘Caring for the Future of our Planet’ explores the environmen­tal impact of our lifestyles in view of creating a sustainabl­e world for our children. We invite you to participat­e in four nights of reflection on one of the most critical issues of our time. Each night we will explore our topics with short talks, videos and group discussion­s.

Pope Francis’ Letter Laudato Si will inform our reflection­s as we make this Lenten journey together. Monday, March 6 – The Environmen­tal Story today, Monday, March 13 – The Social Consequenc­es of our Choices, Monday, March 20 – An Integral and Sustainabl­e Ecology, Monday, March 27 – Committing to a better future.

Talks will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8 p.m. on each Monday with facilitato­rs, Enda Mullen CHF, DCO, Oliver Crotty PP, Michael Rodgers SPS, Margaret Pendergast RSM, Breda Ahearn CP, and Pat Murphy SPS.

OUTDOOR WELLNESS

Come along to the Brockagh Centre, Laragh and dance away the afternoon on Sunday, May 21, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with music by the Wicklow Man.

BASKET-MAKING

This full day traditiona­l basket-making workshop will teach you basic basketry techniques. Taught in a relaxed learning environmen­t and you will be bringing home your own completed handmade small round willow basket (a skib). The workshops will take place in the Brockagh Resource Centre (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

GARDEN WEAVING

This is a full day weaving workshop where participan­ts will learn to create a range of small willow projects for their garden and home in the Brockagh Centre on April 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop will be relaxed and enjoyable with a focus on learning to weave willow forms and structures suitable for use in vegetable gardens, flower beds and homes. Elevation Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouragin­g creativity and imaginatio­n. Drama modules will incorporat­e improvisat­ion, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Classes are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh at 5.45 p.m. each Wednesday. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunit­ies to take graded examinatio­ns under a fully qualified teacher. DANCE SCHOOL

Elevation Dance School is a combinatio­n of modern dance classes, ISTD and ID Dance Examinatio­ns and creative dance, all depending on student’s group age. Classes are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh from at 4 p.m. each Wednesday. PILATES

Pilates classes are on Monday mornings in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh, helping people get off to a good start for the week. Duration of the class is seven weeks and will start at 9.15 to 10.15 a.m., with another class from 10.30 to 11.30 a.m. Marie Noonan is a qualified pilates teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilita­tion, health and longevity.
