Myles’s milestone

-

A great night was had by all at the Grand Hotel on Friday night last as family and friends of popular Wicklow man Myles Kavanagh got together to celebrate his 60th birthday.

The guests included several of Myles’s relatives from places as far apart as Dublin, Galway and England as well as his cousin Maureen Bridges, who came all the way from Boston especially for the occasion.

Also present were several of Myles’s friends from Sunbeam House Services at Ballyraine, Arklow, where Myles attends twice weekly. Music for the night was provided by Myles’s friend, DJ Sam O’Connor from Arklow. During the night, when not showing his moves on the dancefloor, Myles was busy chatting with friends and relatives alike, and was inundated with presents, reflecting his many interests including music, art and football.

Stories and anecdotes from Myles’s life flowed freely throughout the night, as tributes were paid to the manner in which he has coped with the various challenges he has had to face.

The highlight of the night for Myles came when his family presented him with an all-expenses-paid trip to Elland Road to watch his beloved Leeds United play later this season. Myles will also have the opportunity to meet the players and go on a tour of the ground. This will be his first visit to Leeds andwill fulfil the ambition of a lifetime.
