Weekend of laughs

BRAY COMEDY FESTIVAL 2017

-

A whirlwind of laughter in Bray came to an end on Sunday evening with the wrap party of the 2017 Bray Comedy Festival.

The festival is growing by the year, and is now an unmissable staple in the Bray calendar.

Over five nights and days, there were comics to suit every possible taste and age.

Karl Spain led a group of unsuspecting tourists on a unique walking tour of Bray on Saturday evening, before taking on hosting duties at The Martello. We were pretty worried for his safety as Karl goaded one of the burliest audience members in the room!

That night, it was Waterford Whispers News, the phenomenal Joanne McNally, Cork’s own Chris Kent, and self-confessed d**khead, PJ Gallagher.

The previous night, Paul Sinha of ‘ The Chase’ fame had them rolling in the aisles, while down the road in the Harbour Bar, some of the cast of the one and only Fr Ted had their own night of madness.

These are just a handful of the acts to get Bray laughing over the course of the festival, with others including David McSavage, a selection of rising stars, Colin Murphy, Al Porter and many more.

‘Science Magic’ over the weekend ensured the children weren’t left out. Adam Burke and a team of trojan workers ensured that the events ran smoothly and everyone was well looked after over a wonderful five days.
