KAPS – KILCOOLE AREA PLAY SPACE

The KAPS Committee has been in existence for 12 years trying to make a playground in Kilcoole a reality. There have been many twists and turns along the way but we were delighted when work finally commenced before Christmas. The date for completion has changed several times and the committee do not know when it will be finished. Our role has been to apply pressure on the council to keep the Kilcoole playground on the agenda, to liaise with the council with regard to design and community needs, to fundraise, to try to put in place a Caretaker, extra seating around the playground and to organise a launch for the community once it is opened. The committee has no control over placement of entrances or footpaths and we do not currently know when work will recommence on the build nor the timeframe for completion.

Although the committee are disappointed with the delays on the project, we remain optimistic that it will be completed in the near future. All queries relating to the playground should be directed to Wicklow County Council – 0404 20100.
