Students raise €950 for HomeLink by holding bake sale

-

ST GERARD’S Transition Year Group of Young Social Innovators presented a cheque for €950 to HomeLink. This amount was raised recently at a bake sale in their school, which included a range of novel sweet treats.

Principal Tom Geraghty and teacher Evelyn Ni Fheinneadha said that their students were delighted to be supporting HomeLink’s local support services.

HomeLink’s Betty Murphy, a former teacher at the school and co-founder of HomeLink attended the cheque presentation. She thanked the YSI ( Young Social Innovators) group for their dedication, enthusiasm and hard work.

The charity aims to reach out to all older people in our community, especially those living alone, who may feel isolated and in need of daily contact or may require practical help with small repairs, maintenance or gardening work.

If you have an elderly parent, relative or neighbour and would like to make a donation or get involved in organising an event to support HomeLink, call 01 2014473.
