Evening of song and music in Aughrim

-

THERE will be a fabulous evening of music and song in Lawless Hotel, Aughrim on Sunday, March 12.

The night is a tribute night to remember the late Tommy Walsh and all other musicians.

One of the organisers Una Butler said: ‘After losing a great friend and musician Tommy Walsh last year we had a tribute night to remember Tommy. This year we decided to host this night again to remember not just Tommy but to remember all past musicians.

‘ Tommy started his musical career as a member of the Army Band and became member of Garda Siochana and played for over 20 years with the Garda Band. Tommy played with many big bands in the 70s including Tina and the Real McCoy. Tommy was originally from Tuam Co Galway. He then moved to Dunshaughlin in Co. Meath and his latter years were spent in Aughrim.’

Una said that a great night of entertainment is in store with up to 60 musicians attending last year’s event and more expected this year.

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
