“I was a bit worried about his (Flood’s) fitness in pre-season but he’s worked really hard and he’s got his head down and he’s getting the goals which is great.”

The rollercoas­ter victory over the Co Donegal side saw the Co Wicklow club record their best start to a season since 2011 but Kenny fears that it will not last if things are tightened up at the back.

His side have conceded four goals in two games and face a trip to Dalymount Park next.

“It’s a brilliant start. We’ve got plenty of goals for but we’ve conceded too many for my liking.

“We’ll put that right because we’re good going forward so if we can stop as many goals going in, we’ll be okay,” said the Bray Wanderers boss.
