Super Scór Sinsear goes down a treat in St Patrick’s clubhouse
A very successful Scór Sinsear County Final was held in St Patrick’s GAA clubhouse last Friday night.
There was a special significance to the event where Ciara Walsh was on hand to present the inaugural Tom Walsh Memorial Award, in honour of her late father Tom who was a magnificent servant to the GAA in his lifetime and a member of the Bray Emmets club.
Ciara presented the award to the quiz team from Hollywood who were the winners of the Trath na gCeist competition. Congratulations to Richard Burke, Lucy Mooney, Joe Glennon and Sean Glennon who go on to represent Co Wicklow in the All-Ireland final in Belfast. Hollywood also had the winning team in the juvenile Scór quiz.
In the performance finals, the Ceol Uirlise Group of Claire O’Toole, Morgan Buckley and Molly Hayes took the county title for their club An Tochar.
Lisa Hamilton was the winner of the recitation competition while the ballad group from AGB achieved a three-in-arow of county titles in this competition, a magnificent achievement.
All of these groups will represent Wicklow in the Leinster semi-final which takes place in the Marion Hall, in Birr, next Saturday, March 11.
The County Board expressed sincere thanks to St Patrick’s and Eddie Leonard in particular for all of their work in setting up the venue for this event.
