Bray Emmets vs Cuala U14 Hurling - Bray Emmets 8-11, Cuala 1-06.

Bray Emmets under 14 hurlers got their new Dublin Hurling League campaign off to a successful start with a convincing win against Cuala.

The team played particularly well in the first half utilising a stiff breeze to build up a large lead by half-time. The second half was a tighter more competitive one with the Bray just shading it.

There were some terrific individual performances all over the pitch but what was more pleasing was the collective desire shown by the team to play right to the end.

The team and management would also like to express their thanks to Liam for facilitating the playing of the game which had to be switched to Old Conna at very late notice due to Cuala’s pitch being unplayable.

Team: James, Fiachra, Louie, Simon, Dara, Cillian, Oscar D, Nathan P, Michael, Conor, Luan, Jamie, Evan, Tim, Gavin, Cathal, Nathan H, Oscar H, Alex and Shane. Manage: Michael Roddy U13 Boys Football - Bray Emmets vs Navan O’Mahony’s -

The under 13 boys football team travelled to Navan OMahonys Meath for the last of their cross border leauge matches on saturday.

Missing some of our regular players due to confirmation commitments some of the younger boys had to step up and give a dig out.

This was for some of the boys their first experience playing on a full size pitch and this was a big pitch think it could have been bigger than Croke Park.

The lads started off well in the first half having to change their way of play as bouncing the ball wasn’t really an option as the pitch wasn’t what they are used to playing on. In the second half the boys came out all guns blazing.

The lads in defence had an amazing performance and I lost track of how many block downs they did amazing to see.

Mid field had to work hard with a lot of running to be done but were well up for it and took control of the game giving some lovely balls into the forwards.

Lads up front some of new to full pitch worked great and secured some fantastic scores.

Not to forget our keeper Fiachra who played an outstanding game saving us many times but the peno that he saved to knock over the bar was a cracker. Looking forward to the year ahead with this great bunch of lads.

Team. Fiachra, James, Cian L, Jamie, Ciaran, Sean, Oisin, James, Patrick, Callum, Adam, Shane, Cillian , Fionn, Liam.

Manager: Gary Prunty
