No flies on Cllr Mortell

March 1985

-

THERE are no flies on Bray Urban Councillor Mark Mortell!

Certainly that was the case at last week’s meeting of the town council during which Mark swatted no less than 15 bluebottles.

He told the meeting how he had killed the unfortunate insects during the two hours it took to get through the agenda.

The point about all this was not that Mark was particularly proud of his fly killing feat, but a plea for something to be done about the pests by the council officials.

Councillor Mark complained that Bray Town Hall seemed to be the only place in the community where flies could be found during the winter months.

He found this very annoying during the meeting.

Cllr Mortell wondered if officials in the future could take the trouble to hang up a strip of Vapona or spray the chamber with fly killer.
