IT WAS ALL FIGHT ON THE NIGHT!
THE usually peaceful people of Greystones put on their boxing gloves last weekend for a white collar boxing event in aid of the Éire Óg GAA club.
There was a great atmosphere in the Parkview in Newtown last Saturday, where the fighters faced off in a series of brutal battles.
Pete Taylor took the amateur boxers in hand over the past weeks, preparing them for their three minutes of fame. The audience enjoyed 11 bouts in the ring at the centre of the ballroom in the Parkview.
They included Dan ‘De Crusher’ O’Neill vs Gavin ‘Gut-Fecker’ Parslow, ending in a draw, while Danny 'No Mercy’ Nolan beat Rory ‘Ding Dong’ Doyle.
Siobhan ‘Kick Ass’ Kiernan beat Emma ‘ The Destroyer'
Duffy, while Jessy ‘Messyy’ Duffy beat Gemma ‘Killer’ Kiely.
There were one or two black eyes and bruises after the event, and that was just the supporters!
Other victors included Willie ‘Bonecrusher’ O’Hagan who beat James ‘Slugger’ Smullen, and thomas ‘ The Tank’ Tobin who beat David ‘Help Me’ Hempenstall.
