History lecture
The Kilmacanogue History Society is proud to announce that their next talk takes place on Tuesday, April 4, at 8 p.m. in the Glenview Hotel. Charles Egan will be the guest speaker and the title of his talk is ‘The Famine Roads’. This illustrated talk will detail the horror of the famine relief roads during this dark period in Irish history.
Charles, a graduate of UCD, is the author of two acclaimed novels ‘The Killing Snow’ and ‘The Exile Breed’. He is currently completing a third book in the series which is due to be published later this year. The inspiration for these historical novels comes from documents which Charles discovered in his father’s family home in County Mayo.
Everyone is welcome to this very interesting talk, especially new members. Admission is just €4 for non-members and €3 for members.
