Parish Pastoral Council News – PPC Listening Days: As part of the PPC renewal process the Holy Redeemer PPC will hold Listening Days this Saturday and on Saturday, April 1, in the Side Chapel from 11 a.m. to midday. Parishioners are invited to drop in and meet members of the PPC and tell them: A) What they like about the parish; B) What they see as areas for development. Parishioners, who make practical suggestions will be invited to say how they would see their ideas being put into practice. The information will be collated and the findings will be presented at a Gathering on Tuesday, April 25, from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in the Youth Centre.

Lourdes Pilgrimage – September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €725pps. Lourdes 2017: Details of Our Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes are as follows – Departing Thursday, September 7, for five nights. Cost: €725 with a single supplement of €175. staying in the Hotel La Solitude. Bookings are now being taken in the Villa Pacis.
Art Classes: Nicola Sedgwick will be teaching two new eightweek drawing courses in Villa Pacis in April. 8-Week Beginners Drawing Course starts Thursday, April 6, from 1.45 p.m. to 3.45 p.m.; 8-Week Continuation Drawing Course for students who have completed the Beginners Course starts Wednesday, April 5, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For all further information please ring Nicola at 085 7396219.
Queen of Peace summer Project 2017: Will take place in the Villa Pacis. Week I – July 3 to July 7 ; Week July 2 to July 10 to July 14. The cost is €30 per child per week. QOP YOUTH CLUB
Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club are now checking out all their canoeing, and water sports gear in preparation for the oncoming water sports season. All the adventure sports activities will result in certification by the club and some national associations. The club is presently open to new members boys and girls of 10 years of age and upwards. Applications forms are available for downloading on their website.
DIVING CLUB
Wicklow Aquanauts (Bray Divers) new premises in Greystones are now almost completely fitted out. Enough of the work has been done to allow the use of the building for diving purposes. First to use it were divers Jack Hickey, Ann McAvoy, Brendan Moran, and Albert Kerr.
Two trainee divers are just finishing a divers training course, and two more are about to begin. Soon 10 young people will begin a junior snorkelling course. The club is offering free introductions to diving to various interested groups. Call Albert at 087 6756439 for details.
CUALANN SOCIETY
Last Thursday night Dr Charles Hannon was the guest speaker for the 8 p.m. March meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which he presented his lecture on ‘Roger Casement and 1916’ providing a fascinating insight on his involvement with the Rising based on one of his diaries found in a German pine forest.
The April meeting of the society takes place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which Tom Conlon will present his lecture looking at ‘Victorian Kingstown – A Town Divided’. All welcome to attend.
Annual Membership of the Bray Cualann Historical Society is €15 and covers two Adults+2 Children, and can be taken out at any meeting of the society. Admission to lectures is €5 visitors – members free.
