TEA PARTY TIME
First Year students in Coláiste Eoin experienced a lovely treat as their Home Economics class was commandeered by an ex pupil Shauna Donegan, who is currently studying Culinary Arts in DIT. Shauna came back to school and laid on a tea party that even the Mad Hatter would have been proud of. Students were fascinated as Shauna prepared cakes and pastries and they certainly had a great time sampling the goods on offer.
Shauna was delighted to be accepted into the Culinary Arts programme which is a multidisciplinary field and areas of study include culinary performing arts, gastronomy, bakery operations, bar management, food product development, health, hygiene and safety and wine studies. Judging by both the smell and smiles on completion of the demonstration, Shauna has certainly chosen the right career. We wish her continued success and thank her for her contribution to Coláiste Eoin.
SPORTS PARTNERSHIP
Transition Year students are taking part in a Level 1 Youth Leadership Programme. The programme is very intense and units involved include, Establishing Leadership Skills and Behaviours, Acting as an Official, Planning and assisting and reviewing a Sport Session. The students should benefit greatly from the programme and we wish them every success in their efforts.
