FARM SHOP EVENT

The next basket making day at the Tinahely Farm Shop is on April 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The day will commence with morning coffee, followed by lunch, afternoon tea. All of the materials for the baskets are included in the cost for the day. The cost for the day is €85.

PHOTO COMPETITIO­N CAR BOOT/CRAFT FAIR

There will be a Car Boot/Craft Fair on Saturday, April 15, from midday to 4 p.m. Venue is Black Tom’s Bar in Tinahely. Cost of entry is €10 per table. Items to include arts and crafts, homemade breads, cakes, jams, and chutneys. designer clothing (new and second hand), collectors’ items, costume jewellery, kitchen items and general bric-a-brac. KARE FUNDRAISER.

Tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches galore will be served in the ‘Tea Room’ Community Hall on Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds from this fundraiser to Kare Tinahely Local Service. This springtime event will be held in conjunctio­n with the upcoming Wicklow Fleadh 2017 in Tinahely.

Kare is a voluntary organisati­on which was founded in 1967 by parents and friends of people with an intellectu­al disability. Fundraisin­g is a vital source of additional income for Kare. The Tinahely Local Service was establishe­d in 2003 and ensures that individual­s with intellectu­al disabiliti­es, can avail of the service in their own community and as close to their home as possible. The catchment area includes Tinahely, Annacurra, Clonmore, Carnew, Shillelagh, Coolboy, Aughrim and Hacketstow­n.

A special thanks to our local Tinahely branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann for generously making this fundraiser possible for Kare. Bring your family, friends and neighbours and enjoy the best of traditiona­l music and culture. There will be plenty of tea and coffee to go round as well as a selection of delicious homemade cakes and tasty sandwiches for you to enjoy. Many thanks for your valued support to Kare. .

SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Tinahely National School is now accepting enrolments for September 2017. We will hold an open evening on Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. Parents and children all welcome.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

If you are living with Depression/Anxiety or any other mental health issue, you may benefit from attending the Tinahely mental health support group. Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. upstairs in the library building in Tinahely. The cost is €5 per session including tea or coffee. DOG OWNERS NOTE

To those that walk their pets on leash, a big thank you. To those that don’t please be aware you are endangerin­g the future of the walks for the wider community. The Railway Walk and extension have a strict rule that dogs must be on leash and no dogs are permitted on any of the looped walks.
