Soccer St Kevin’s under-19 and under-15 boys’ soccer were both knocked out of the Leinster Champions League at the quarter final stage last week. Under-15 boys lost 2-1 whereas the under-19 boys lost 3-1 after extra time.

FRENCH EXCHANGE

Monday, March 13, was a special day at St Kevin’s CC as we welcomed the French Exchange students from our partner school, St Vincent, Brissac. St Kevin’s put on an impressive show as the students were greeted with traditional music, Irish dancing, and refreshments in this much-anticipated return visit.

The 50 students and four French teachers enjoyed trips to Castlecomer Discovery Park, Kilkenny Castle, Glendalough, Trinity College, The Jeanie Johnston and Croke Park. While St Kevin’s host families entertained the students in the evenings and at the weekend.

A big thank you is due to the host families who looked after the students, their involvement is significant to the success of the exchange. The long-established French exchange offers students an opportunity to practice their language skills outside the classroom, experience foreign culture and establish friendships with students of the target language. We look forward to our next visit in the future.

Bhain daltaí na scoile an-taitneamh as bailliú le chéile agus ‘Crúib an Asail’ agus ‘Ballai Luimní’ a dhéanamh lena gcuid múinteoirí i gceaintIn na scoile. Bhí Seó Tallaine eagraithe don chéad bhliain agus sheinn cúpla rang an fheadóg stain, rinne rang eile damhsa Gaelach agas chas rang amháín ‘Wake Me Up’ i nGaeilge.

Tá orainn buíochas a ghabháíl do dhaltaí na cúigiú bliana a chabhraigh leis na múinteoirí an Tráth na gCeist a eagrú, agus dóibh siúd a sheinn leis an nGrúpa Traidisiúnta. Bhain chuile dhuine sult as na himeachtaí uilig agus ba léir go raibh idir na daltaí agus na múinteoirí sách sásta a gcuid Gaeilge a úsáid. Buíochas do na múineoirí Ms Ní Éideáin, Ms Ní Chuinnea, Mr Reddy, Ms Byrne, Ms Whyte agus Ms Barker. Is léir go bhfuil an-mheas ag chuile dhuine i gColáiste Phobal Chaoimhín ar ár dteanga dúchasach.
