25th annual Christ Church Garden Fête: Takes place on Saturday, June 10,. Would you like to join the team and the fun of the day, in the run-up to the Fête or helping with the tidy up? All offers of help, whether for a couple of hours or more would be very much appreciate­d. This is the main parish fundraiser and we need YOUR help to ensure that the fête is a huge success. HOLY REDEEMER PARISH

Parish Pastoral Council News: We thank all the parishione­rs who shared their thoughts with us on the PPC Renewal days recently. We are now collating the informatio­n which will be shared with you on Tuesday, April 25, from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in the Youth Centre. All are welcome with refreshmen­ts afterwards.

Last Sundays Church Gate Collection: Was in aid of the Irish Kidney Associatio­n to assist its work of promoting Organ Donor Awareness and providing support services for those suffering kidney failure and their families. Thank you for supporting this collection.

Coffee Dock: The Coffee Dock closed last Monday for the Easter Break and will re-open on Monday, April 24, We wish all our regulars a very Happy Easter and extend a big thank you to all our volunteers.

The World Meeting Of Families: The recent weekend collection amounted to €1,529. Thank you for your very generous sup- port.

Lourdes Pilgrimage – September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €725pps. Single Supplement €150 – Limited Single Rooms Available. Installmen­ts accepted. Final payment is due first week of July 2017. The World Meeting of Families Collection: This recent collection which replaced the Share Collection amounted to €1,070. Thank you for your generosity.

The St Vincent de Paul Sunshine Fund Collection: The annual Advocate Collection for the Sunshine House took place last weekend. Each year the fund provides much needed holidays for approximat­ely 1,000 of Dublin’s less fortunate children. Your kind support is greatly appreciate­d.

Parish Trip 2017 to Seville: From May 27 to June 3-8 Days and seven Nights Trip. The price includes seven Nights Dinner, bed and Breakfast at 4* Hotel America Seville Coach transfer to and from Airport. Tour guide for the duration of the trip. Plus three Day Trips: (1): Day Trip to Córdoba; (2): Day Trip to Cádiz; (3): Day Trip to Ronda. Easter Mass Bouquet Card: The intentions of those who receive these cards will be re- membered at the 9.30 a.m. Mass on Monday, April 17, Cards are available from the Sacristy and the parish office.

OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE

Easter Closure: The parish office will close at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Holy Thursday) and will re-open on Monday, April 24,.The Villa Pacis will close Good Friday and Easter Monday only.

Easter Dues: Thank you to everyone who has returned their Easter dues. There are still some Easter cards left to deliver, if you can help, please call to the sacristy. Easter dues can be returned to the sacristy or the parish office. Spare envelopes are available in the church porches for anyone who would like to take one.

Lourdes 2017: Our annual pilgrimage departs on September 7 for five nights. Bookings are now being taken in the Villa Pacis.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club will not function on Friday, April 7, as all the leaders will be away on a training seminar. Additional­ly the club will be closed on Good Friday, and it will open again on Friday, April 21. The committee wish all the members a very happy Easter.

DIVING CLUB

After Easter Bray Divers Sub-Aqua Club will take on two new trainees. Training will be in Shoreline Swimming Pool in Greystones, and the lectures will be in the club premises in Greystones Harbour. Now is the time to get ready to be a diver in time for the holidays. Call Albert at 087 6756439, and you will soon be diving.

CUALANN SOCIETY

Last Thursday morning James Sscannell, PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, presented a talk ‘Easter 1942 in Bray, Co. Wicklow’ in Ballywaltr­im Library and on Friday morning talk’ Easter 1917 in Bray, Co. Wicklow’ in Bray Library, looking backing at events in Bray in 1942 And 1917 respective­ly.

The April meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society takes place in the Royal Hotel, Bray takes place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Bray, at which Tom Conlon will present his lecture looking at ‘Victorian Kingstown – A Town Divided’. All welcome to attend. Tom will have copies of his book on this aspect of Kingstown/Dun Laoghaire history with him for anyone looking for a copy of it.

Annual Membership of the Bray Cualann Historical Society is €15 and covers two Adults+2 Children, and can be taken out at any meeting of the society. Admission to lectures is €5 visitors – members free.
