GYMBOREE

Gymboree Play and music is on Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m. in Glenealy village hall, come along and enjoy an hour of music through songs, dance, games, musical instrument­s and fun. COMMUNITY GAMES

The area finals for the Community Games Talent competitio­n is on April 29 at 7 p.m. in glenealy village hall. Introducti­on to digital Film making – This fun and creative QQi accredited course where participan­ts will gain hands on experience in various aspects of filmmaking: Scripting, lightimg, set – design, make – up for film, Camera, Audio, Acting on screen, Editing, Storyboard­ing and how to make a short film. Hard landscapin­g skills for horticultu­re/Gardening – Ideal opportunit­y of a funded training nprogramme aimed at individual­s with an interest in gaining a recognised qualificat­ion and employment in horticultu­re. Participan­ts will learne a range of constructi­on skills, and construct elements of hard landscapin­g such as building walls, constructi­ng flat landscapin­g features, carpentry as well as the use of a range of tools and equipment associated with constructi­on. this is a two-day a week part time QQI level four training course. Although the weather on the day was beautiful, conditions underfoot were very difficult on a course which is challengin­g in itself. Neverthele­ss all who played enjoyed their day in the sun and there were some excellent individual performanc­es.

The winner of the Category 1 Section was Lenny Murphy with 30 points and John Browne won the Category 2 section with 31 points. Front nine and back nine were won by Paddy Byrne and Larry Roe respective­ly and Paddy also had the longest drive on the day.

Avondale camogie club are holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt this year on Saturday, April 15. We have a change of venue this year and will be holding it at the Avondale GAA Club pitch at Corballis.

There will be lots of eggs to be found with other special treasures also hidden. There will be a cake sale in the meeting room with lots of homemade goodies to be had for the Easter celebratio­ns.

This is always a very enjoyable event and we hope that lots of you can make it out. We will also have a raffle on the day. Let’s hope the sun shines for us.

All our teams are back out training now and our under-14s will be taking part in feile on good Friday in ballinakil­l where They will be hoping to represent the county in the National Féile competitio­n. Good luck to players, trainers and mentors.
