Running across the clifftops
HUNDREDS of athletes took on the cliff walk recently, for the annual 10km challenge from Greystones to Bray.
The event didn’t escape its by now traditional downpour, despite an otherwise fine day.
The evening run took participants along the cliff tops via the coastal path with sweeping views and no traffic. The terrain kept runners interested with beaches, sealed paths and rough uneven trail.
They enjoyed unobstructed views across Dublin Bay, as well as refreshments in a range of hostelries in Bray at the end of their challenge. Some of the participants supported Amnesty International in their run.
Barry Minnock came first, with a time of 37 minutes and 48 seconds. Sandra Lynch was the fastest woman, with a time of 42 minutes, 35 seconds.
