Inaugural day of culture and creativity is resounding success

The author of the Rabbit and Bear series Julian Gough did a reading while there was also a performance from The Quiet Tree and the creatures of Whistleberry Forest which is a newly composed series of traditional tunes and songs.
The Well in Bray hosted a live concert double bill featuring top Irish piano trio ‘ The CEO Experiment with saxophonist Michael Buckley’, and ‘Stella sings Ella’, a tribute performance by singer Stella Bass and guitarist Hugh Buckley that honours the centenary of the first lady of jazz, Ella Fitzgerald.
In Killruddery House, children’s authors Marie-Louise Fitzpatrick and Michael Emberley performed readings from their books while there was also a performance by Woofle by the Replay Theatre Company.
Maitiú Ó Casaide and Eithne Ní Cáthain performed a special concert for families while the Booka Brass Band, fresh from a nationwide tour, closed the programme of events.
CEO of Wicklow County Council Bryan Doyle said: ‘We at Wicklow County Council are proud of our culture team, spearheaded by our Arts Officer and Creative Ireland Co-ordinator Jenny Sherwin.
