25th annual Christ Church Garden Fête: Takes place on Saturday, June 10,. Would you like to join the team and the fun of the day, in the run-up to the Fête or helping with the tidy up? All offers of help, whether for a couple of hours or more would be very much appreciate­d. This is the main parish fundraiser and we need YOUR help to ensure that the fête is a huge success. Parish Pastoral Council News: We thank all the parishione­rs who shared their thoughts with us on the PPC Renewal days recently. We are now collating the informatio­n which will be shared with you on Tuesday, April 25, from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in the Youth Centre. All are welcome with refreshmen­ts afterwards.

Dues Envelopes: When returning your Easter dues envelopes, please place them in the boxes in the walls around the church. Trócaire Boxes: Trócaire boxes and envelopes can be returned to the sacristy or parish office during the week.

Celebratio­n: In early June we will celebrate all Ministries in the parish, and Fr Enda’s Golden Jubilee.

Coffee Dock: The Coffee Dock is closed for the Easter Break and will re-open next Monday.

Holy Redeemer Youth Centre: We would like to invite all secondary school students to join us in the Holy Redeemer Youth Centre on any Wednesday (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.); Friday Night (6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) or Saturday (2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) A great atmosphere to make new friends in a lovely environmen­t with loads of fun filled activities, movies and pool.

Lourdes Pilgrimage – September 7 to September 12: The parish will once again join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September. The fully inclusive price is €725pps. Single Supplement €150 – Limited Single Rooms Available. Installmen­ts accepted. Final payment is due first week of July 2017. St Fergal’s Men’s Choir: Will sing at this Sundays 11.30 a.m. Mass in St Peter’s Church.

Divine Mercy: This Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday.

Invitation: For those who have attended the prayer service training and anyone involved with children’s liturgy in the Pastoral Area, you are invited to attend a workshop to cover Use of colour in liturgy – Art work and symbolism – Appropriat­e music and use of technology – Understand­ing the liturgical seasons. This workshop will also encourage the parallel use of traditiona­l and culturally modern in liturgical services. Date: Saturday, May 13, in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Bray, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Coffee and scones will be on the go all morning and parking permits organised. ST FERGAL’S PARISH

Sunshine Fund Collection 2017: The recent annual Sunshine Fund Collection amounted to €1,380. We are truly grateful for the generosity of parishione­rs this and every year. We also sincerely thank Fr Larry for facilitati­ng the collection and thank you to the sixth class pupils from St Fergal’s NS who helped so enthusiast­ically with the collection. Thanks to All.

Parish Trip 2017 to Seville: From May 27 to June 3-8 Days and seven Nights Trip. The price includes seven Nights Dinner, bed and Breakfast at 4* Hotel America Seville Coach transfer to and from Airport. Tour guide for the duration of the trip. Perpetual Adoration: To promote and continue this wonderful gift of Perpetual Adoration in our parish, we are appealing for your help. If you can do one hour a week, please contact the Sacristy. Adorers needed for our Perpetual Adoration in our Church on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you can commit, please leave your name and contact number in the box provided at end of the church.

Memorial Plates: It has been a long church tradition to have a plate fitted to a seat in memory of a loved one. Full details regarding such plates are available from the parish office. (€250 donation towards the running costs of our Church.)

Lourdes 2017: Our annual pilgrimage departs on September 7 for five nights. Bookings are now being taken in the Villa Pacis.

GODSPELL

Bray Musical Society return to Mermaid Theatre, Bray, from today (Wednesday) to this Saturday to present the hit musical Godspell, which is based on the Gospel of St Matthew. Godspell deals with the last days of Jesus and includes dramatised versions of several well known parables. QOP YOUTH CLUB

Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club leaders weekend seminar was a great success. Big decisions were made about aspects of good governance, business procedure, and regarding celebratin­g the club 50th anniversar­y. Following the Easter holiday the club will be open again on Friday, April 21, with a night walk in Glendaloug­h to the old Miners Village.

DIVING CLUB

Bray Divers have continuous­ly observed the underwater conditions in a number of areas. The most dramatic change has occurred off Carrig Eden. Here they recently found a huge rock area uncovered from the sand where it has not been seen for decades. This is quite an exciting find, and there is no knowing how long it will remain uncovered.

CUALANN SOCIETY

Tomorrow night (Thursday) the April meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, takes place at 8 p.m. in the Royal Hotel, Bray at which Tom Conlon will present his lecture looking at ‘Victorian Kingstown – A Town Divided’ in which he will reveal how the poor of the town were hidden from the view of tourists to the town. All welcome to attend. Tom will have copies of his book dealing with this aspect of Kingstown/Dun Laoghaire history with him for anyone looking for a copy of it.

Annual Membership of the Bray Cualann Historical Society is €15 and covers two Adults+2 Children, and can be taken out at any meeting of the society. Admission to lectures is €5 visitors – members free.

Members are also invited to next Monday night’s 8 p.m. meeting of the Wicklow Historical Society in the Old Boathouse beside the Leitrim Inn in Wicklow Town at which Chris Corlett will present his lecture ‘Here Lieth...’
