No car tax

TWO Arklow motorists who failed to display a valid tax discs on their cars were fined at local district court last Wednesday.

Patrick Dodd of 13 Tyronnell Close, Inbhear Mór Park was stopped by Garda Eamon Furlong on August 6, 2013 at Ferrybank, Arklow.

He had no tax disc on the vehicle and the last time it was paid was November 2015.

Dodd told the court that he couldn’t afford to pay it and he took the car off the road and sold it afterwards. There were no previous conviction­s. He was fined €150.

Meanwhile, a fine of €300 was handed down to another motorist without car tax who was stopped at the same location on the same date by Garda Furlong.

William Breen of 4 Mary B Mitchell Close, Inbhear Mór Park, had last taxed the vehicle in August 2015.
