Roundwood fight back in humdinger of a final

-

terrifically saved by Rovers keeper Aaron Lynch.

Moments later however, they did score, James Cardiff executed a delicious lob over Lynch from 30 yards.

After more Roundwood pressure, a goalmouth scramble saw Niall Sheehan pull on a loose ball and the sideline erupted as it hit the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Into extra-time and Roundwood were reduced to 10 players when Dylan Cummins was harshly sent off for a second bookable offence. They drove on though and another Sheehan rocket was parried by Lynch but fell to Nolan who cracked it home. Sheehan did get a deserved second late on with a bullet header to give Roundwood a two-goal cushion.

They needed it as David Lally struck a consolation at the death. Man of the match was Sheehan with Cummins, Nolan and centre back Ciaran Murphy all excellent too. For Wicklow Rovers Lynch played well and Mark Evans too.
