Enniskerry Walkers were out last night and continue their Tuesday night outings during the summer/autumn time. Next Tuesday the trip is again a local one taking in Knocksink, Bog Meadow and Killegar, meet at Windsor’s Spar at 7.15 p.m.

PAR 3 GOLF

A small but elite group of players turned up last Sunday, David Messitt was the winner, continuing his unbroken run of winning at least once a year.

DARTS

Powerscour­t Arms Dart team had a great win last Tuesday night in Ballally coming from behind with a great finish from Alex, who had been going through a bad finishing run, but came good in both games to clinch a win for Joe’s Boys.

QUIZ

The quiz of the Year takes place in Summerhill Hotel on May 5. A great night is in store with free raffle thrown in.

HISTORY SOCIETY

The Enniskerry History Society is now on the summer Recess and work on preparing the autumn programme is currently under way.

In the meantime members of the Enniskerry History Society are invited to attend tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting of the Old Dublin Society in the Conference Room of Dublin City Library and Archive, 138-144 Pearse Street, Dublin two, at which Michael Fewer will present his lecture ‘The Life and Times of J. B. Malone, founder of the Wicklow Way, soldier, map-maker, historian’ – all welcome – admission free; to next Tuesday night’s 8 p.m. meeting of the Kilmacanog­ue History Society in the Glenview Hotel, Glen of the Downs, Delgany, Co. Wicklow, at which Carmel O’Toole will present her lecture ‘Glenmalure: The Wild Heart of the Mountains’ – all welcome – admission €3; and to the Thursday, May 4, 8 p.m. meeting of the Mount Merrion Historical Society in the Community Centre, North Avenue, Mount Merrion, Co. ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours are as follow: Tuesday and Wednesday – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.; Friday – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Book Club will be continuing and will meet on the last Wednesday of every month. The annual fundraisin­g clothes sale in aid of St Patrick’s National School, Curtlestow­n which takes place in the Powerscour­t Arms and Country House Hotel starts this Friday from 10 a.m. till late and will be extended to Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (pending stock availabili­ty). The Wicklow Age Friendly Strategy 2017 – 2022 is being launched at the AGM of the Co. Wicklow Older Person’s Council on May 26 by Minister Simon Harris. The AGM will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre, 10 a.m. to 3.45. There will be a talk from Brendan Martin, County Librarian and John Gill, Crime Prevention Officer for Wicklow.
