- By MARY FOGARTY

TWO PEOPLE were arrested last Tuesday after an attempted break-in at Ripley Hills in Bray.

A number of males gained access to the house before being disturbed and chased off by residents of the estate.

Gardaí believe that their faces may have been covered and, as they made off, one of them shouted threats to a local man who had witnessed the crime.

According to gardaí, they crashed a car as they attempted to make their escape. It is believed that there were four people in the car.

Two people were later arrested and taken to Bray Garda Station.

Superintendent Pat Ward said that one of the arrested individuals is an adult and the other a juvenile. He said that they were charged with offenses and released on bail. A file is expected to be prepared for the DPP.

Supt Ward said that some items were found in a car located afterwards and these have been sent for forensic examination.

He said that the group did not manage to get away with anything from the house.
