Appeal for missing stick

-

APPEALS have been made for the safe return of a walking stick which an elderly man lost in Bray over a week ago.

The man was getting a coffee in the shop inside Bray Dart Station and he left his stick down.

He went out of the shop without it, then returned and it was gone.

Staff and members of the public helped to search the shop but it was gone.

The local man was there alone, however his friend Glenda Guilfoyle sent out an appeal afterwards in the hope that someone would come forward.

She said that the stick is very special to her friend, and he would like to get it back.

The stick is made of dark wood with a heavy brass top carved in the shape of a cat’s head.

‘It is very distinctive in appearance and while worth little monetarily, is of great sentimental value,’ said Glenda.

She said that the owner is very upset at its loss.

If anyone finds the stick, it can be returned to the shop where it was found, or handed in at The Harbour Trading Co. at the harbour in Bray, with no questions asked.
