Cliff walk will not be closed

MEMBERS of Greystones Municipal District heard that there was misinformation regarding the cliff walk because the contractor put up signs.

District Engineer Michael Nicholson said that the local authority cannot close the walk, which accommodates thousands of people each year, during works.

However he said that the contractor has concerns regarding public liability on the site.

He said that the cliff walk will not be closed at any time.

Mr Nicholson said that the local authority is talking to the contractor to negotiate arrangements for the duration of the refurbishment works.
