Rovers rejoice as they secure Premier crown

-

attack saw Fionn O’Reilly cross from the left and Bobby Dowling unfortunate to cannon a shot off the inside of the post and out.

Rovers made the most of the reprieve soon after. A ball was slipped through to Willoughby Woods who slipped the ball under Clarke.

Newtown’s keeper made two great saves from Woods and Mark Hodgkinson.

Clarke could do nothing soon after when Younger showed his alertness to toe poke an effort beyond the keeper.

O’Meara made the game safe when he cut in from the right and struck past Clarke.

Newtown never let their heads drop and Shane Dunleavy pulled one back with a shot from distance that lobbed the keeper.

Rovers could have had more goals with Hodgkinson, Tiernan O’Brien and Jack Ryan missing chances. A good display by Rovers with Tom Hodgkinson player of the match.

Dunleavy with his no nonsense style took the battle to them for Newtown.
