History group Dublin outing

-

Greystones Archaeological and Historical Society will hold their first outing of 2017 on Sunday, May 21.

They will go to Ashtown Castle in Phoenix Park for a guided tour and a look at its fine gardens.

They will then go to Dunboyne castle for lunch, before going on to Hamwood House in Dunboyne for a guided tour of the house and gardens, led by the owner, Charles Hamilton.

Hamwood House, a small Palladian mansion of the 1770s, has been in the possession of the Hamilton family for almost two hundred and 50 years.

This will be the first visit of the society to this house, so it promises to be an interesting outing.

Light refreshments will be served at the house.

The tour leaves from opposite Greystones Station at 10 a.m.

The cost per person, to include coach travel, entry fees and lunch, will be €45.
