RATHNEW

-

Rathnew 1-15, Bray 0-8 - Our Seniors welcomed Bray to Rathnew Saturday evening for their football league Division 1 clash in terrible conditions.

We started well with young Seamus Cosgrove knocking over the opening score and a minute later Bruiser with the only goal of the game.

We went in leading 1-6 to 6 at half-time and kicked on with some good scores from Theo, Staff, Jody, Leighton and Eddie Doyle. Great showing from Nicky at centre-back and Jody from centre-forward in what was a pleasing all round display.

On to our Intermediates who beat Donard - Donard 1-7, Rathnew 0-12 - We travelled to Donard on a dirty night in what was always going to be a tough task to get a win but the performance and heart the team showed was excellent. Loosing 1-4 to 6 at half-time,we drove on in the second half and kept Donard to three points from frees. We could have possibly won by more. We won’t single out any men to watch from this game as the whole team performed brilliantly.

A gentle reminder all club memberships are now due. Contact registrar Tommy Murphy, or Catherine O’Connor.

Great to see the numbers rapidly expanding for our Saturday morning coaching. We welcome all new faces so come along, join in the fun, get fit and make new friends!

Congratulations to newlyweds William and Tanya Jameson who celebrated their big day over the weekend.

We extend deepest sympathy to David, Emma, Alannah and the Shortall family on the passing of the late Noeleen. RIP.

Congrats to Nikkie Dignam on being picked for the All Ireland hockey team
