Cream of Garden crop ready for All-Irelands

FOR a county synonymous with winning All-Ireland football championsh­ips, Kerry will host the All-Ireland Pool Championsh­ips from Thursday, May 18 until Sunday, May 21 in The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney.

The championsh­ips will see 600 players from all over Ireland competing in team and singles competitio­ns, playing some 12,000 frames of pool during the three-day event. Wicklow will have two team’s completion Wicklow A and Wicklow B.

The Wicklow A team will start the competitio­n against second favourite Dublin B at 4pm on Thursday with the second match against Laois B at 7pm that evening.

Friday morning will see Wicklow play Kerry A, and Donegal B before wrapping up the group with a match against Tyrone C Friday night.

The top two teams in the group qualify for the knockout stage with the rest going into the shield competitio­n.

Wicklow B kick-off against Laois A before playing All-Ireland champions Antrim B on Thursday evening.

Friday morning sees Wicklow B play Meath C and Cork B before wrapping up the group with a match against Louth B.
