ST GERARD’S DRAMSOC

Our Dramsoc, under the expert tutelage of their director, performed a wonderful trio of comedies recently. The three plays were ‘The Mad Breakfast’ by IM Grey, ‘The Real Problem’ by Bruce Kane and ‘Afternoon of the Bloodsucking Dead Monsters’ by Katherine Dubois. All twenty two actors were exceptional in their various roles and it was inspiring to see such talent evolving from the first and second Year students. All augurs well for the future of drama in the school.

PIETA HOUSE DARKNESS INTO LIGHT.

Congratulations to the St Gerard’s School Saint Vincent de Paul Conference, who organised a group of forty seven fifth year students, staff and parents, to participate in Pieta House Darkness into Light Walk in Bray on Saturday, May 6. SENIOR RUGBY AND HOCKEY BARBECUE.

Well done to everyone who contributed to the success of the Senior Rugby and Hockey end of season barbecue. Our SCT hockey and rugby captains, Eleanor Dunne and Daniel Power, gave superb speeches summarising their seasons. Both speeches epitomised the values which we place on sport in the school. We were delighted to welcome both our senior II’s rugby and hockey teams also to mark and recognise their tremendous successes this season in winning their respective leagues.

TRANSITION YEAR THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE.

Our TY’s took to the Wicklow hills last week to complete their Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for their Difference Day project in Sunbeam House, Bray. They had a glorious day for their walk and raised over €4,000 for the Sunbeam Project. A huge effort by all involved – well done.
