BEALTAINE FESTIVAL

BROCKAGH ART GROUP
An exhibition of paintings by members of Brockagh Art Group will open next Friday in Glendalough Green Cafe, Laragh, May 19 to May 30, marking the end of year for students of Almha Roche’s Wednesday morning art class in the Brockagh Centre. Almha is an artist from Laragh, who teaches adult and children’s classes locally. Paintings in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolour will be on show in a variety of styles. Artists include José O’Connor, Margaret Conroy, Nancy Falkow, Jackie Stuart, Enda Fitzpatrick, Deborah Von Metzradt, Lisa Mahony and Almha Roche.
SALE OF WORK
Parishes of Rathdrum and Derralossary with Glenealy are holding a sale of Work on Saturday, May 20, from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. in the RDA Hall Rathdrum. Great stalls full of cakes, plants, books, toys, bric and brac, and a Grand Raffle at 3 p.m. Please come along and give us your support.
ELEVATION SHOW
Elevation School of Performing Arts presents its 10 Year Anniversary show, Something Old, Something New on Saturday, June 3, at 6 p.m. in Brockagh Resource Centre. This is a celebration of everything dance and drama from all of our students across all the campuses. We invite everyone young and young at heart to come along, students and supporters past and present to come along and join in the celebrations with us.
OLDER PEOPLES AGM
The Wicklow Age Friendly Strategy 2017 – 2022 is being launched at the AGM of the Co. Wicklow Older Person’s Council on May 26 by Minister Simon Harris. The AGM is in the Brock- agh Resource Centre, 10 a.m. to 3.45. A talk from Brendan Martin, County Librarian and John Gill, Crime Prevention Officer, Wicklow. ACTIVE RETIREMENT

COMMUNITY GARDEN
The garden is now ready for planting and we welcome the community into the garden. Plots are available for those wishing to grow their own vegetables. The polytunnel can be used for growing tomatoes etc. and if you have a small garden but want to grow potatoes or larger vegetables such as marrow we have the space. Call Finian at 086 2476822.

WE LOVE ART
Classes on Monday afternoons are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes are small, and divided by age group. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. Children learn new skills and techniques and have fun experimenting with materials and making creative decisions about their work. DRAMA SCHOOL
Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher.
