MODERN DRAMA AT INCH

‘Terminus’, a play by Mark O’Rowe is coming to Inch Hall on next Sunday, May 21, at 8 p.m. It is a modern play and not for the faint hearted or children. It is a New Heritage production from Cork and directed by Brendan Dunlea.

TIDY TOWNS

The 2K clean-up is well under way around the village with up to 30 bags of rubbish picked, the committee are looking for more helpers this week to cover a wider area, so if you have an hour to spare please come along.

May will be the start of the Tidy Town season, and there is a lot of work to be done with flower beds, painting, strimming etc so please come out to give our village that TLC look in your area.

The annual barbecue is planned for later in the year with a date yet to be agreed.

GOLDENBRID­GE CEMETERY.

Congratula­tions to John Cunningham, Askinch, a great great great grandson of ‘The Liberator’ Daniel O’Connell, who died in 1847, who was honoured with laying a wreath on his grave at the reopening of Goldenbrid­ge Cemetery last Sunday.

FIRST COMMUNION.

Congratula­tions to all 27 boys and girls from Coolgreany and Bearna Chlé National Schools, who received their first Holy Communion in St David’s Church Johnstown on Sunday, May 14, and a special word of thanks to the priests and Teachers, who helped to prepare them or that special day, and we all look forward to seeing many new faces at masses in the future.

Confirmati­on is on next Saturday, May 20, in St David’s Johnstown, and great preparatio­n work is well under way. We wish them all a lovely day.
