SHILLELAGH

Well done to the players and management of the Junior A football team who were denied victory in Division 3 of the football league on Saturday last when Eire - Og Greystones split the posts in injury time to earn a share of the spoils on 1-8 to 0-11 scoreline. A seriously depleted Shillelagh outfit showed great spirit and determination and could be considered a tad unlucky to be denied a victory. Dermot Blake, the youngest of the Mulinacuffe Blake Brothers who all wore the Shillelagh Geansai with pride and distinction down through the years figured prominently for the opposition, now domiciled in Greystones but still a popular figure around these parts, good to see Dermot still actively involved.

The combination drawn in the club lotto draw on Monday, 15th May was 2-4-14-17, The jackpot still remains elusive, and also no match 3 winner emerged, the following were lucky dip winners each procuring 35 Euro, Michelle Troy c/o Bill, P/M Nolan, Millbank and the legendary Patrick Hennessey, Millbank, Pat Nolan won the promoters prize he next draw with the jackpot an attractive 3.200 euro will take place in Kenny”s Central House on Monday, 29th May.

U-10 Camogie: Bray Emmets v Ballinteer - We played a blitz against Ballinteer and we played three matches. As they were short of numbers several of our girls played for them so there would be no subs. As always those girls that swapped played their best and we got great compliments from the opposition coaches. Who also said that many of their girls would not do the same.

The matches were short and competitive. After winning our first match the confidence was high but despite great efforts from our forwards we just could not get any scores in the last two matches. Thankfully our defence did a great job and didn’t allow any scores either so we finished with two draws.

Foireann: Aine, Brenna, Ciaran, Kate B, Kate S, Katie, Kimberly, Lily, Mia, Rianna, Ruby, Teagan. Bainisteoir: Alan Kennedy.
