Shopping centre plan for Bray
May 1998
Plans are currently being finalised in relation to a renewed application for planning permission for the proposed Florentine Shopping Centre in Bray.
Members of Bray UDC were also informed at a recent meeting that Ballymore Properties are also finalising negotiations for a lease agreement with key tenants in the new centre.
The details were revealed in a letter from Ballymore Properties Portfolio Manager Ray Hardy, sent in response to a recent call by councillors for a progress report on the status of the scheme.
Ballymore Properties have already been granted planning permission for a mall-style shopping centre on the site of the existing town centre car park at Florence Road, Bray, a permission which was upheld earlier this year on appeal to An Bord Pleanala.
In spite of winning the appeal, Ballymore Properties announced shortly afterwards that they would be making a renewed planning application to take account of their acquisition of further properties on the periphery of the site.
