The ceremony will take place at the peace and remembrance memorial at the side of the gaol at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 27.

The ceremony, which marks International Peacekeepers Day which is Monday, May 29, is in memory of Defence Forces, An Garda Siochana and Civilian Personnel who died on UN duty through the world

Members of the public are welcome; especially welcome would be family members of those who will be remembered.

Serving or ex-soldiers who have served with the UN are invited to wear their medals and Blue Beret, if they have them.

Post 21 are very grateful to the committee the Wicklow Peace and Remembrance Memorial Group for allowing them to hold their ceremony at their Memorial.

The Memorial, which was unveiled last year, is erected in memory of all Wicklow people who died, in or because of, conflict at home or anywhere in the world. Regrettably there are two Wicklow men on the UN Roll of Honour which will be read out at the ceremony.

Weather permitting Post 21 will have memorabilia in the Gaol Courtyard after the ceremony
