Speed networking event at National Learning Network

-

NATIONAL Learning Network hosted their annual Speed Networking event in their centre on the Boghall Road last Tuesday evening.

While many business groups run speed networking events, this is the only event where voluntary and state funded services have had the opportunity to promote the work they do and the service they offer.

This event was attended by over 40 representatives from 30 local and national agencies from the education, community, health and employment sectors.

They had two speakers, sharing their knowledge on networking and marketing ourselves and our service.

Aidan Coughlan of Farfromavocados.com spoke about how social media networking and marketing has changed and how by asking yourself a few simple questions about your audience – who they are, what they want, and how you can help – you’ll not only save time, effort and money, but you’ll also develop far more meaningful and valuable relationships with your potential customers.

Barbara Moynihan founder On Your Feet spoke on ‘Networking like a Natural’. This was a highly interactive and serious yet fun talk and gave everyone tips and techniques that can help mingle with ease and create better business relationships in any situation.

Speaking after the event Area Manager Deborah Coughlan said: ‘ The reaction to the event has been so positive. Everyone got into the spirit of the occasion and people welcomed the opportunity to highlight their service and to make new contacts. As a community we can provide better supports to people if we have met a contact person from that service. Events like this remind us that Bray is a great place to live and work and is made better by networking and staying connected. This is our fifth Speed Networking event, it definitely won’t be the last! ‘

National Learning Network is a specialist training agency especially for people out of work because of illness, an accident, mental health issues or a disability. They run several types of daytime courses and their phone number is 01 2829643.
