Tinahely CFR are hosting their annual fundraisin­g coffee morning on Saturday, June 10, at 10 a.m. Please come along and support this wonderful communi- ty service and even try your hand at CPR on the Market Square. Everyone welcome. ELLEN KINCH MEMORIAL CUP

The Ellen Kinch Memorial Cup will take place this year on Saturday, June 10, in Tinahely GAA Pitch. A great day of fun is guaranteed.. All support is welcome.

KILCOMMON BBQ

Tinahely and Carnew Union of Parishes barbecue and Funday is Sunday, June 11, at the Rectory, Kilcommon. Food will be served from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Steak and Salads with Dessert €20; Children’s Burger Meal €5. Lots of fun for all the family.

TINAHELY FARM SHOP

Classes at the Farm Shop in June: Basket making on June 17 come and learn how to make a basket out of willow; or learn how to make a garden sculpture out of chicken wire on June 24; both classes €85 this includes morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and materials for your class. An Online Photograph­y Competitio­n is being run for children under 12 years of age. Spot the signs of spring on the Railway Walk and its extension over the next few weeks and take your best photo. TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday, June 11, the walk will be at Kilbrannis­h – St John’s Hill (Grade B, 17km, four hours) meeting in Tinahely at 9.30 a.m., Bunclody car-park at 10 a.m. On Sunday, June 18, the walk will be at Lugnaquill­a (Grade A, 20km, six hours) meeting in Tinahely at 9.30 a.m., or Fenton’s Pub 10 a.m.

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food and drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

Well known campaigner for the homeless Fr Peter McVerry will celebrate Mass with Fr Raymond Gahan in St Kevin’s Church, Kilaveney on Saturday, July 8, at 7.30 p.m. Fr McVerry’s life work has been to provide practical support to homeless people and other vulnerable groups. Fr McVerry will give the homily at this Mass. The theme of the homily will be ‘Homelessne­ss – a challenge for the Gospel’.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

If you are living with Depression/Anxiety or any other mental health issue, you may benefit from attending the Tinahely mental health support group. Meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. upstairs in the library building in Tinahely. The cost is €5 per session including tea or coffee.
