Residents-only parking can’t be accommodated

-

RESIDENTS of Killincarrig Road sent requests to the district council for residents only parking, particularly at weekends.

In the eight submissions on this matter, they said that the parking spaces outside their homes are regularly occupied by non-residents. Officials said that there is no legal basis for designated parking on a public road for the exclusive use of its residents. Residents of Kill- incarrig Road can buy residents parking permits for €50 per year which allow them to park on the nearest available road, if there are no spaces available on their own road.

Meanwhile, two subissions were received to retain the existing arrangement for purchase of visitors permits.

This request will be facilitated as there is no issue with the scheme in Greystones, and the current system works well.
