Funding for music festival
Progress is being made on allocating the discretionary funding for Greystones Municipal District.
At last week’s meeting, members agreed to allocate some of the festivals budget of € 20,000 to the Kilcoole Music Festival.
Cllr Grainne McLoughlin said that the festival costs €8,500 to put on, and the committee needs as much help as possible. ‘We have never given them financial support,’ she said. They agreed to allocate € 1,500 to the festival.
They also agreed to donate € 5,000 to the Christmas lights.
Previously, they agreed to allocate € 5,000 to Greystones Tidy Towns, and € 2,500 each to Kilcoole, Delgany and Newcastle Tidy Towns, as well as € 150 to the People of the Year awards.
There is an estimated €850 left in the festivals budget.
